Glowing Concrete Driveway Border
Exposed glowing aggregate concrete is a popular decorative option for many homeowners and business owners. This style of concrete features a textured surface that showcases the natural beauty of the glow aggregates used in its creation. In this particular case, the contractor Garrett Mino from Highside Wimberley in Texas utilized 1/2" AGT™ ULTRA-X Sky Blue Glow Stones to create a stunning glow border and pad. The process involved seeding and troweling the glow stones onto the setting concrete. The use of AGT™ ULTRA-X Glow Stones allowed for the concrete to retain its strength and durability while also providing a beautiful and long-lasting glow.
After the glow stones were seeded and troweled, TopCast #25 Concrete Retarder was sprayed on the surface and left for 4.5 hours. This particular product is a surface retarder designed to delay the setting of the surface mortar, which allows for the aggregate to be exposed easily. Once the product was left for the desired amount of time, the surface was pressure washed off to expose the AGT™ Glow Stones. The end result was a beautiful and unique exposed aggregate concrete surface that glows in the dark.
