Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom offers guests an immersive journey into the alien landscapes of James Cameron's "Avatar." These glowing pathways were crafted using AGT™ glow sand material renowned for it's luminescent properties. During the day, the walkways showcase intricate designs, including Na'vi footprints and natural motifs. To maintain this enchanting effect, regular upkeep is essential. Exposure to sunlight and foot traffic can cause the luminescent materials to fade over time. Recognizing this, Disney has undertaken periodic refreshes of the pavement. In January 2025, significant refurbishment efforts were observed, with sections near the Na'vi River Journey attraction receiving fresh applications of the glow-in-the-dark materials. These updates ensure that the pathways continue to provide an immersive experience for guests, preserving the land's magical nighttime allure.
